POPCOM-R02 conducts seminar on RPD-PoA

A team of trainers from the Region 2 Office of the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM-R02) led by Regional Director Herita O. Macarubbo conducted a Seminar on the Regional Population and Development Program of Action (RPD-PoA) for 2022-2028 on July 18, 2022 at the Ammungan Hall, Provincial Capitol.

This capability-building activity, which was coordinated and hosted by the Population Division of the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) headed by Provincial Population Officer-Designate Elvira G. Tongson, provided the participants with some updates on the RPD-PoA and the overarching Philippine Population and Development Program (PPDP) of the POPCOM.

Also included in the discussions were the Localization and Institutionalization of the PPDP, and the status of implementation of the Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) and Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Programs of the Commission.

Culminating the activity was the sharing among the participants of their insights, best practices, and success stories, and the formulation of re-entry plans and commitment statements which shall also serve as inputs to the Consolidated Provincial Plan for CY2023 and guides for monitoring of performance.

Joining the seminar were Population Officers and Health Officers from the fifteen component municipalities of the province, Family Planning Nurses, Adolescent Health and Development Focal Persons, Members of the Provincial Coordinating Committee and Provincial Implementation Team for the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) Law, and Representatives of school and faith-based partners and other concerned civil society organizations.
