Focused on resolutions and plans for the upcoming 2024 Census of Population (PopCen) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) implementation, the joint Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) and Provincial CBMS Coordinating Board convened for their 2nd quarter regular meeting on June 4, 2024, at the Paniqui Hall, Executive Building, Capitol Compound, Bayombong.
Attended by key stakeholders and representatives from various agencies including PSA, DTI, DAR, DENR, NV-Police Provincial Office, TESDA, PDRRMO, PENARO, PHRMO, KABALIKAT CIVICOM, PARDS, among others, the meeting was highlighted by endorsement of several PSA Board Resolutions closely aligned with the projects and initiatives spearheaded by Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito to drive progress and development in Nueva Vizcaya.
Engr. Edgardo D. Sabado, PPDC, encouraged the group to cooperate with the PSA mandate and adapt a resolution enjoining each member of the coordinating board to provide assistance they could dispense to have better implementation of the 2024 census of population. “Your support to the accuracy and comprehensive data collection is very crucial to the development planning at all levels of government for the successful implementation of the activity,” he said.
The preparations for the 2024 Census of Population and CBMS is expected to move forward, with the cooperation and support from all stakeholders, under the leadership of Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito. His established partnerships with local organizations to utilize social media platforms to reach remote and underserved areas will be a good count to lay a solid foundation for informed policy-making and resource allocation in the province. /gpp
