We Will Rise: Gov. Gambito Leads Novo Vizcayanos in Post-Typhoon Recovery

In the aftermath of Typhoon Pepito’s devastation, Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito has emerged as a pillar of strength and resilience for the people of Nueva Vizcaya. In a recent interview, Gov. Gambito assured Novo Vizcayanos of his unwavering commitment to collaborating with the national government to secure essential aid for the province’s recovery. “We will not rest until Nueva Vizcaya stands strong once more,” he passionately declared.

To expedite recovery efforts, Gov. Gambito has urged the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) to promptly declare Nueva Vizcaya under a state of calamity. This crucial declaration will pave the way for the immediate rehabilitation of damaged roads and bridges and enable increased support for the agricultural sector and residents whose homes were destroyed. “Swift action is vital to restoring our infrastructure and providing substantial aid to our affected communities,” Gov. Gambito emphasized.

The governor also called for the continued unity among Novo Vizcayanos, highlighting the importance of collective effort in rebuilding their communities. He expressed deep gratitude for the remarkable spirit of bayanihan—or community cooperation—that emerged amid the storm’s fury. “The outpouring of support from private individuals and business owners, who opened their doors to shelter those displaced by the typhoon, is a testament to our strength as One Nueva Vizcaya,” he remarked.

In addition to his personal assistance to the families of the seven casualties in Ambaguio, who tragically lost their lives in a landslide, Gov. Gambito pledged that the provincial government would provide further financial aid to these families. “We are committed to standing by our people in their time of need,” he assured.

This sense of community solidarity, according to Gov. Gambito, is the driving force behind his dedication to leading the province towards full recovery. Despite the challenges ahead, the governor remains optimistic, inspired by the resilience and determination of the Novo Vizcayanos to rise and rebuild. “Together, we will overcome this adversity and emerge stronger than ever,” he affirmed, instilling hope in a province eager to heal and move forward. /RMI
