Tricycle drivers from the municipalities of Bambang and Aritao gathered in front of the Public Employment Service Division (PESD) office to receive a much-needed 46-liter fuel subsidy on March 24, 2025. This is part of the provincial government’s Jobs in Need of Gifts (J.I.N.G.) program, which aims to assist local drivers facing rising fuel costs. The subsidy distribution featured the provincial government’s commitment to supporting livelihood sectors heavily impacted by economic challenges.
Launched under the leadership of Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, the program is designed to provide financial relief to essential service providers such as tricycle drivers, who play an important role in local transportation. Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Dolly Rose C. Minas oversees the implementation of the program.
There were 971 recipients from the municipality of Bambang, while an estimated 400 applicants from the municipality of Aritao are currently under review. This subsidy is one of the many efforts to assist tricycle drivers who face increasing operational expenses.
With rising fuel prices putting strain on their earnings, the subsidy provides immediate relief, allowing drivers to continue providing transportation services for their communities without further financial burden. Fuel support is part of the provincial government’s effort to ease the effects of economic strain on various sectors within the province.
Governor Gambito’s leadership in launching the J.I.N.G. program is seen as an indication to the provincial government’s engagement to the welfare of Novo Vizcayanos. As part of the ongoing program, future initiatives are expected to further address the needs of other sectors, making sure that local communities are supported during times of economic difficulty. #jmcb
