The Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development (PROCEDE) Office, under the leadership of Ms. Juditte L. Asuncion, through its Entrepreneurship Division led by Mr. Roel P. Dolaypan, Jr., spearheaded a transformative Trade Techno Mission in General Santos City, South Cotabato from June 24-28, 2024. At the core of this endeavor was the General Approach to MSME Business Initiatives for Trade Operations (GAMBITO): A Trade Techno Mission Approach, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the trade operations of Micro-, Small-, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nueva Vizcaya.
The objective was to conduct a benchmarking activity with successful MSMEs in South Cotabato that exhibit compliance with quality standards and effective marketing strategies. Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito approved the activity because he believes that by learning from these established enterprises, local MSMEs in Nueva Vizcaya could adopt best practices and enhance their operational efficiency and competitiveness.
The GAMBITO initiative, rooted in a dynamic Trade Techno Mission framework, sought to extract insights and best practices from successful MSMEs nationwide known for their adherence to quality standards and effective marketing strategies. By providing a tangible pathway for local MSMEs to enhance their trade operations and competitiveness, it aimed to cultivate a culture of innovation and resilience within the local business ecosystem.
The essence of this initiative lies in fostering direct engagement and knowledge exchange among MSMEs, eliminating the need for traditional workshops. By facilitating interactions and knowledge-sharing sessions between successful MSMEs and local entrepreneurs, the initiative created an environment conducive to learning, adaptation, and practical skill development. This hands-on approach empowered MSMEs with tangible strategies for business improvement and encouraged a culture of innovation and growth.
Collaboration served as the cornerstone of its success. Through strategic partnerships with government agencies, industry associations, and stakeholders, the initiative harnessed collective expertise and resources to provide holistic support to MSMEs in Nueva Vizcaya. By pooling efforts and advocating for policy reforms, it aimed to catalyze growth, resilience, and economic development, positioning MSMEs as essential contributors to the sustainable progress of Nueva Vizcaya and beyond.
During the Trade Techno Mission, participants engaged in strategic site visits to 14 diverse stakeholders in General Santos City. These visits provided firsthand experience of various operational environments, allowing participants to observe industry best practices, and gain valuable insights for business enhancement.
The initiative epitomized a commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth within the MSME sector, paving the way for sustainable economic development and prosperity in the province. Through knowledge exchange, hands-on engagement, and strategic partnerships, it aimed to empower MSMEs and drive positive change in the local business landscape. /mvs
