The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), headed by Flordelina C. Granada, held the regular flag-raising ceremony (FRC) at the People’s Stage, Capitol, Bayombong on March 10, 2025. This event gave the community a chance to hear about the programs of the provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, through the PSWDO to help improve the lives of Novo Vizcayanos. The ceremony also provided a platform to share important updates and recognize those who have contributed to the province’s progress.
On behalf of Granada who’s on official travel, Susan Dyte, Social Worker Officer IV, shared several important achievements of the PSWDO. One of the main highlights was the award given to 52 married couples who have been together for over 50 years. These couples received the “Enduring Devotion Ordinance Award,” which celebrates their lasting commitment to one another. In addition, 1,000 more couples are currently being considered for this honor, promoting the value of long-lasting relationships in the province.
The PSWDO has also assisted 930 solo parents, providing them with financial assistance. PSWDO has also helped 6 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who suffered abuse while working abroad. The office has worked with 53 minors who survived rape, offering them services to heal and recover. Moreover, 25 centenarians were honored for their long lives, and the provincial government continues to support 100 local entrepreneurs in their business endeavors.
In addition, the PSWDO is also improving its facilities. The renovation of the Home for Women and Girls is currently in progress, aiming to provide a safer and better environment for women and girls in need. With these efforts and support from Gov. Gambito, the PSWDO continues to make a positive difference in the lives of Novo Vizcayanos, offering support and opportunities for everyone in the community. #jmcb
