The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Service Center in Nueva Vizcaya officially opened its doors today (July 15), bringing government services closer to professionals in the province and neighboring areas.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito and PRC Regional Director John G. Alilam at Nightingale Hall, located within the Provincial Capitol compound. According to Governor Gambito, the establishment of the PRC Service Center is a “dream turned into reality,” designed to make PRC services more accessible not only to professionals from Nueva Vizcaya but also from the nearby provinces of Quirino, Ifugao, and Nueva Ecija.
Around 50 professionals, including some who traveled from as far as Ifugao, lined up early to avail themselves of the center’s services on its opening day. Many expressed their gratitude to the provincial government and the PRC for making these essential services more accessible, saying it will save them significant time and travel expenses.
Governor Gambito expressed his gratitude to Director Alilam for his vital role in making the project possible.
“You truly went out of your way to establish this office. There were hurdles along the way that required careful negotiation and collaboration. It was through a genuine meeting of the minds and a willingness to meet halfway that we were able to turn this vision into reality,” Gambito said.
He further emphasized the importance of innovation and taking risks in local governance. “This initiative is a product of our commitment to innovation and our willingness to take risks for the betterment of our province. If we always remain in our comfort zones and shy away from challenges, Nueva Vizcaya will never reach its full potential,” he added.
Governor Gambito also highlighted the broader impact of the new service center. “This center is not only for our professionals. It will also benefit our entrepreneurs and boost local tourism by making essential services more accessible to everyone in the province and nearby areas,” he said.
For his part, PRC Regional Director John Alilam, Jr. thanked Governor Gambito and the Provincial Government for providing office space, equipment, internet connectivity, and two personnel who will work alongside a PRC staff member at the center. Alilam also promised to expand the range of services offered at the new office in the future.
Currently, the PRC Service Center in Nueva Vizcaya offers new and renewal applications for PRC IDs, as well as registration, authentication, and certification services. John Christopher Miranda, an electrical engineer, was the first to renew his PRC license at the newly opened center. /RMI
