PLGU-NV Receives PHP4.3 Million for Livelihood Development

The province of Nueva Vizcaya has been awarded a P4.3 million from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 2 for its Livelihood Development Program. The fund, presented to Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito by DOLE Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Director Elizabeth U. Martinez in a ceremony at the Governor’s Office, will benefit 200 individuals from various municipalities in the province.

The event was witnessed by representatives from DOLE RO2 including the head of the Public Employment Service Division of the office of the governor, Ms Dolly Rose Minas. The presence of DOLE representatives underscored the collaborative efforts between the provincial government and the agency in promoting economic resilience and entrepreneurship in Nueva Vizcaya.

The Livelihood Development Program aims to provide financial assistance and resources to local entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners, enabling them to start or expand their businesses. With this grant, beneficiaries will receive support in the form of livelihood kits, training programs, and mentorship opportunities to help them succeed in their ventures.

Governor Gambito expressed his gratitude to DOLE for their continued support and commitment to the economic development of Nueva Vizcaya. “This funding will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of our beneficiaries, providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. This is a testament to the government’s dedication to uplifting the lives of our people and creating a more prosperous future for Nueva Vizcaya”, he stated. The implementation of the Livelihood Development Program will be carried out through the Public Employment Service Division of the Office of the Governor, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of support to the beneficiaries.

The Livelihood Development Program is part of the government’s broader strategy to create inclusive growth and reduce poverty in rural areas. By investing in the skills and capabilities of local entrepreneurs, the program aims to build a more vibrant and sustainable economy in Nueva Vizcaya, ultimately improving the quality of life for its residents. /RMI
