PLGU-Nueva Vizcaya and DOLE Provide Assistance to Novo Vizcayanos on Philippine Independence Day

In celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day, the provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya, led by Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to provide various forms of assistance to the residents of the province.

The event, themed “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” included a payout for 2,330 beneficiaries of the Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program, amounting to a total of ₱11.155 million. According to Dolly Rose C. Minas of the Public Employment Service Division (PESD), ₱10 million of this funding was sourced through the efforts of CVRTC Chair Ruth Padilla from the LPGMA Partylist.

In addition to the TUPAD assistance, the provincial government and DOLE also provided ₱1.2 million in livelihood assistance to 59 beneficiaries. The event featured the KADIWA ng Pangulo Fair, showcasing local products from 20 sectors, as well as the Project Angel Tree initiative, which supports 50 child laborers in observance of the World Day Against Child Labor.

Although Governor Gambito was unable to attend the program, he conveyed his commitment to continue working with national government agencies to secure additional funding for services aimed at helping Novo Vizcayanos.Among the attendees at the event held at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center were Ruth Padilla, BM Rolland Carub, DOLE Provincial Director Elizabeth Martinez, and representatives from various national government agencies. /RMI
