The Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), embarked on a transformative journey on June 19, 2024, with the commencement of the 3-day Training on Good Housekeeping at the Ammungan Hall, Provincial Capitol. Led by the Provincial Human Resource Management Office (PHRMO) under the guidance of Dr. Ma. Carla Lucia M. Torralba, the training aimed to equip employees with essential skills and competencies in housekeeping practices.
PHRMO Torralba set the tone for the training by emphasizing the core values of diligence, kindness, and respect as essential qualities for public servants. Approved by Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, the training focused on enhancing employees’ understanding of housekeeping responsibilities and fostering a culture of excellence in workplace maintenance.
Mr. Marvin Jay A. Tagnong, Associate Professor I of the Hospitality Department at Nueva Vizcaya State University Bambang Campus, was the resource speaker, guiding participants through a three-day comprehensive agenda.
Day 1 delved into fundamental topics such as the definition and scope of housekeeping, the 5S of Housekeeping System, workplace housekeeping and maintenance, and an exploration of cleaning materials, tools, and equipment.
On Day 2, discussions centered around housekeeping services, and practical demonstrations on bed setup using traditional and duvet methods, providing participants with hands-on experience and practical skills.
On June 21, 2024, the final day culminated with lectures on Occupational Health Safety, and Work Values. Participants interacted through sharing of learnings from the training. The training concluded with the awarding of certificates to the completers by Ms. Carol G. Guntalilib, Assistant Provincial Human Resource Management Officer, recognizing their dedication and commitment to the training.
A total of 24 employees from various PGNV offices actively engaged in the training, expressing gratitude to Governor Gambito for the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in housekeeping practices.
The seamless facilitation of the 3-day training was led by Ms. Cyd Joan O. Simbala, Chief of the Organizational Development Division of the PHRMO, along with the support of Ms. Alisha Ashleigh La Corda, Ms. Rochelle D. Torres, and Reimark J.
