PGNV takes steps to combat Dengue Outbreak

Due to the alarming rise in dengue cases in Nueva Vizcaya, the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) has implemented a mandatory cleaning hour for all employees, aiming to curb the spread of the mosquito-borne illness.

The Office of the Provincial Administrator (OPA), headed by Mr. Jovito O. Celestino, issued Advisory No. 905-2024 on September 5, 2024, which mandates that starting on September 9, 2024, all employees are required to participate in a daily cleaning initiative at 4:00 PM. This includes cleaning personal workspaces, and office areas, and maintaining the premises within the Capitol Compound and all PLGU-run hospitals.

The advisory emphasizes the importance of proactive measures to ensure the health and safety of all employees in light of the escalating dengue situation. The PGNV recognizes the critical role of a clean and hygienic environment in preventing the spread of the disease.

The advisory also states that beyond the mandatory cleaning hour, employees are encouraged to take additional precautions, such as using mosquito repellents, wearing long-sleeved clothing, and participating in community clean-up drives. /mvs
