PGNV, OGPI open projects

Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, leads the inauguration of two important infrastructure projects in Barangay Pogonsino: the Barangay Pogonsino Multipurpose Building and the Pogonsino Health Station at Barangay Hall Pogonsino, Bagabag, on July 2, 2025.

The Multipurpose Building, which will serve as a venue for meetings, events, and other community activities, was completed in two parts. Phase 1 was funded by the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), while Phase 2 was supported by the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU).

The Pogonsino Health Station, built to enhance access to essential health services, was made possible through the funding support of OceanaGold Philippines Inc. (OGPI), amounting to ₱3 million.

Governor Gambito places great importance on infrastructure projects that aim to improve healthcare services in the province. Health services are among his administration’s flagship programs, which also include the beautification of government-owned and -operated hospitals, the construction of health stations, the deployment of mobile clinics, and other health-focused initiatives. With the support of the private sector, particularly OGPI, this collaboration with the provincial government reflects a strong partnership and shared commitment to improve the lives of the people in Bagabag.

The newly constructed Pogonsino Health Station is expected to benefit residents by providing easier access to basic medical services, including primary care, maternal and child health, and general health consultations. This project is another step in making government health services more accessible and strengthening the healthcare system in the province.

Also present during the ceremony were Ms. Desiree D. Baldevino, External Affairs and Social Performance Manager of OGPI, and barangay officials who expressed gratitude for the successful completion of the projects.

These projects aim to bring better services and facilities to the people of Pogonsino through strong cooperation between the government and private sector. /jmcb
