The Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), through the Governor’s Office- Persons with Disability Affairs Office (GO-PDAO) and in collaboration with the Provincial Local Youth Development Office (PLYDO), successfully held the 1st Global IT Challenge (GITC) for Youth with Disabilities. The event took place on March 25, 2024, at the Paniqui Hall, Provincial Capitol.
Twelve students from various schools in the province participated in the event, showcasing their ICT capabilities and competing in a friendly environment.
Ms. Venus R. Cadabona, Disability Affairs Officer III, delivered a message of support on behalf of Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito. She emphasized the Governor’s commitment to initiatives that empower the youth and promote their role in nation-building.
The GITC aims to strengthen the ICT capabilities of youth with disabilities, establish the foundation for social advancement, and improve awareness of digital accessibility. In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the GITC seeks to enhance the credibility of the competition and the independence of participating countries.
Participants engaged in discussions and took examinations on various topics, including Elife Map, Etool PowerPoint, and Etool Excel.
The winners of the competition were Jerico P. Molina from Bambang National High School (1st Prize), Christian Matthew M. Tobias from Bambang National High School (2nd Prize), John Kyle Codangos from Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School (3rd Prize), and Vincent Kaede M. Merto from Bambang National High School (4th Prize).
