On January 14, 2025, the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), led by Gov. Atty. Jose V. Gambito, distributed approved requests for cash and in-kind assistance to various organizations and barangays from different parts of the province. The event took place at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center, Capitol Compound, Bayombong.
The assistance, which included cash and items such as chairs, tables and tents, was provided to support local organizations and barangays. “Whatever your requests are, I will fulfill them. These are your needs, not mine. I have only a few months left in office, and I want to make the most of it,” Gov. Gambito stated.
Gov. Gambito also highlighted the accomplishments of the provincial government during his tenure, including receiving multiple awards, such as the prestigious SGLG award. He noted that upon taking office, he recognized the urgent need to modernize provincial hospitals and address the shortage of doctors in provincial government-run hospitals. To address this, he launched the “Doktor ti Umili” program, which offers scholarships to aspiring medical students from Nueva Vizcaya. In return, these students commit to serving in provincial hospitals for eight years, helping to meet the healthcare needs of local residents.
Additionally, the provincial government has worked on beautifying and modernizing hospitals to better serve Novo Vizcayano patients with upgraded facilities. Three mobile hospitals were also purchased to provide healthcare services to remote areas, complete with full medical facilities, laboratory equipment, doctors, nurses, and free check-ups and medicines. These mobile units will rotate between designated areas each month to assess the health needs of local residents.
Gov. Gambito also shared other achievements, including the province’s designation as insurgency-free. In addressing issues with tax payments, he successfully worked to remove interest on taxes, reducing the burden on taxpayers. This solution allowed many people to pay their taxes, which in turn helped fund programs and projects like the distribution of cash and in-kind assistance to people in need. Joining the governor in the distribution of cash and in-kind assistance were Board Members Hon. Patricio “PatPat” F. Dumlao Jr., Hon. Eunice Galima- Gambol, Hon. Florante S. Gerdan, Hon. Roland M. Carub, and other personalities
