Around 300 farmers and fisherfolks in the town of Alfonso Castañeda received agricultural inputs during the Agri-Fishery Information and Enterprise Caravan in Alfonso Castañeda. The event provided essential farm supplies, including seedlings, pesticides, insecticides, and bags containing 1000 fingerlings each, benefiting selected fisherfolks with fishponds. This initiative is part of the provincial government’s continued efforts to support local agriculture and fisheries, aiming to improve productivity and boost the livelihood of rural communities.
The caravan spearheaded by the Provincial Agricultural Office (PAO) is in collaboration with the Provincial Veterinary Services Office (PVSO) and the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PROCEDE) on October 18, 2024, at the Alfonso Castañeda Gymnasium in Brgy. Lublub.
This initiative, part of the Provincial Agricultural and Fisheries Extension Systems (PAFES), is an information sharing in ensuring that the basic services reach farmers and fisherfolks. By equipping them with accurate and timely information, the provincial government aims to ensure they receive the right services at the right time, improving their productivity and livelihoods.
The information caravan seeks to increase awareness and understanding of the various programs and services offered by the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) through PAO, PVSO, and PROCEDE, among other attached agencies focusing on agriculture and fishery development. By bringing together different offices and stakeholders under one roof, said agencies offer farmers and fisherfolk direct access to valuable information on technologies, market trends, financial assistance, and more.
