PGNV accepts applications for the enduring devotion incentive

The Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, under the leadership of Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito has started accepting applications for the “Nueva Vizcaya Enduring Devotion Award.” This award, established through an ordinance authored by Board Member Patricio F. Dumlao Jr., offers incentives to married couples who have lived together for 50 years or more.

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be legally married and have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary or more, in accordance with the provisions of the Family Code, the Local Government Code, the Code of Muslim Personal Laws, or the Rules and Regulations Governing Registration of Acts and Events Concerning the Civil Status of Indigenous Peoples.

The marriage must be registered with the Local Civil Registry (LCR) or the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Additionally, couples must have been residents of the province for at least 10 years as of their 50th wedding anniversary, have no records or convictions of domestic violence or abuse, and must both be alive at the time of application.

The required documents for the application are as follows:1. Application Form (see downloadable form)2. PSA Copy of Marriage Certificate3. Barangay Council Resolution certifying that the spouses have lived together (see downloadable form)4. Barangay Certification of Residency certifying the spouses’ permanent residence in the barangay (see downloadable form)5. One valid government-issued ID for each applicant6. Birth certificates of both spouses issued by the PSA or LCR7. Notarized Certificate of Undertaking stating that there is no pending case for annulment of marriage8. NBI Clearance9. Waiver (see downloadable form)

Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) Officer Flordelina C. Granada shared that an initial budget of P2.5 million has been allocated for this award, with the first batch of recipients expected to be honored by the end of the year.

Granada emphasized that the barangay council resolution and residency certification should affirm the accuracy and truthfulness of the documents submitted by the applicants. The validation team will not only review the documents but may also conduct interviews and verify other sources to ensure consistency.

Granada urged the public to engage with their barangays, as they have been briefed on the process and committed to assist in verifying documents before they are submitted to the PSWDO. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Applications are being accepted at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center until September 5, 2024, and will continue at the PSWDO thereafter. /cqc
