In a flag raising program this morning, Senior Labor Officer Dolly Rose Minas presented an overview of the significant achievements of the Public Employment Services Division (PESD) under the Office of the Governor. Since its establishment in 2018, PESD has expanded its reach through various employment and livelihood initiatives to support the workforce in Nueva Vizcaya.
Minas highlighted several flagship programs under PESD, such as the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) support initiatives, the Government Internship Program (GIP), and job referral services facilitated in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). PESD has also been instrumental in executing the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program, providing vital assistance to the province’s disadvantaged and displaced workers.
In addition to these ongoing programs, Minas announced the upcoming “Jobs in Need of Gifts” (JING) initiative, which focuses on helping low-income workers cope with the challenges of inflation. Under JING, around 3,000 tricycle drivers across the province will receive financial support, with each beneficiary provided Php 3,000 to offset rising costs and economic difficulties.
Minas also shared updates on the “Trabaho Para It Umili” (TrPATU) program, an employment initiative aimed at helping marginalized and underemployed individuals across the province. Since its launch, TrPATU has offered much-needed wage assistance to thousands of vulnerable workers, reinforcing the province’s commitment to inclusive economic growth and sustainable livelihoods.
“These programs are more than just temporary solutions; they’re part of a broader strategy to uplift our workforce and help them thrive even in tough times,” Minas emphasized, reaffirming Governor Jose V. Gambito’s dedication to economic stability and resilience.
Minas expressed gratitude for Gov. Gambito’s support, emphasizing that his focus on workforce development has played an important role in expanding employment services and livelihood programs across Nueva Vizcaya. “Governor Gambito’s leadership has inspired us to push forward with our mission to support local workers and uplift the livelihoods of those most affected by economic challenges,” Minas stated.
As the province continues to expand its employment services and livelihood programs, PESD remains at the forefront and is hopeful in championing initiatives that empower local workers and contribute to a brighter economic future for all with the help and support of all the leaders and offices/agencies in the province. /gpp
