PEO holds orientation for Heavy Equipment Operators on newly acquired machinery

To continue the effort in improving infrastructure development and maintenance in the province, the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) under the leadership of Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, through the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), headed by Provincial Engineer Jerry A. Tan, conducted orientation training by the representatives from CIVIC Company for its Heavy Equipment Operators on the proper handling and maintenance of newly acquired machinery. The orientation was held at the Motorpool, Provincial Engineering Office, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, on June 3, 2025.

A total of 5 new heavy equipment units were recently procured to bolster the province’s engineering capacity. These include 2 motor graders, 2 wheel- type excavators, and 1 brand- new self- loader truck. Supplied by CIVIC Company, the heavy equipment are expected to enhance the PEO’s ability to respond to infrastructure needs, especially in far-flung barangays and priority road development areas. The procurement includes two motor graders valued at P21, 990,000 and two wheel-type excavators costing P26, 990,000. In addition, a brand-new self-loader truck is priced at P17,995,000. Altogether, the total investment for the five heavy machines amounts to P66, 975,000.

During the orientation, operators were given hands-on guidance on maintenance protocols, safety precautions, and efficient operational techniques to guarantee the longevity and optimum performance of the machines. The project reflects the collaboration between PEO and Governor Gambito’s dedication in modernizing the province’s infrastructure capabilities and upholding safety and efficiency among personnel.

The investment goes beyond the acquisition of equipment. It underscores the value placed in empowering the people behind the machines. By training and equipping its operators, PGNV reinforces its effort to sustainable development and effective public service. This aligns with PGNV’s objective to elevate public works delivery and instill safety-focused practices across all engineering projects. #jmcb
