The Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), through the Persons with Disability Affairs Division of the Governor’s Office (GO-PDAD) hosted a year-end assessment for PDAO/PWD Focal Persons and Municipal Federation Presidents on December 10, 2024, at the Saber Inn, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
Ms. Venus R. Cadabona, Disability Affairs Officer III, warmly welcomed the participants and provided an overview of the day’s activities. She extended her gratitude to Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito for his unwavering support of the PWD community. Vice Governor Eufemia A. Dacayo also extended her greetings via phone call, reiterating her commitment to the PWD sector. Board Members Edgardo D. Balgos and Eunice Galima-Gambol delivered messages of encouragement and solidarity, emphasizing the importance of continued support for PWDs.
The event featured an on-the-spot judging of annual accomplishment reports from eight participating municipalities. This allowed municipalities to share their achievements and best practices, fostering a sense of learning and collaboration.
Adding a touch of vibrancy to the day was the “PWD Pwedeng-pwede” search, a talent competition where PDAO Focal Person of Quezon, Ms. Jennie Lyn P. Ballestra, emerged victorious. This competition celebrated the talents and abilities of PWD individuals, showcasing their confidence and potential.
Certificates were presented to the winners in various categories, including the Most Compliant PDAO/PWD Focal Person, Most Innovative Report Award, and Perfect Attendance Award. These recognitions acknowledged the dedication and hard work of individuals who have made significant contributions to the PWD sector.
All participants received gift packs from the Rotary Club of Bayombong, a gesture of appreciation for their commitment to empowering the PWD community. /mvs
