Nueva Vizcaya, a rising center in the coffee production scene of the Cagayan Valley, is set to host its inaugural Coffee Festival as part of the 16th Grand Ammungan Festival this coming May 2025. This exciting new event, organized in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), aims to highlight the province’s growing coffee industry and the diverse flavors crafted by local coffee makers.
In recent years, Nueva Vizcaya has become a significant coffee producer in the region, with municipalities such as Ambaguio, Kasibu, Kayapa, Sta Fe and Alfonso Castañeda leading the way. These areas have become known for their high-quality coffee, contributing to the increasing popularity of coffee culture across the province. The rising number of coffee shops in the area reflects the local community’s passion for coffee and its potential as a key economic driver.
The 1st Coffee Festival will showcase a wide array of coffee products grown and produced within these municipalities. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample various coffee blends and discover the unique flavors that Nueva Vizcaya has to offer. The event will also feature a marketplace for selling local coffee products, as well as talks and workshops participated in by coffee farmers and coffee shop owners, providing valuable insights into the art and business of coffee production.
Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “The Coffee Festival is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our local farmers and entrepreneurs. This event not only celebrates the rich coffee heritage of Nueva Vizcaya but also highlights the potential of our province as a key player in the coffee industry. We are proud to showcase the unique flavors and quality of our locally produced coffee to the world.”
