The Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya under the leadership of Gov. Atty Jose V. Gambito has announced a series of activities to celebrate the 2025 National Women’s Month, with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor,Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas“. Spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWD), the month-long celebration aims to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women across all sectors in the province.

The celebration kicked off on March 1 and runs until March 31, 2025. Various activities are planned to engage the community and recognize women’s contributions to society. Ms. Susan P. Dyte, Social Welfare Officer IV, stated that these activities aim to raise awareness and encourage participation in women’s empowerment. Early in the month, a Personality Development Training and a Kick-Off Campaign Motorcade were held, with women in police service from the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Police Office joining the motorcade. The event also included a fun Zumba session and Mental Health Training to promote wellness among women in law enforcement.

Additionally, from March 4 to 7, the PSWD supported the Local Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Committee to strengthen their initiatives.

Upcoming activities include:

• Training on VAWC Protocols: On March 14, service providers will receive training on protocols related to Violence Against Women and Children at Ammungan Hall to ensure they are well-prepared to handle such cases.

• Leadership Training for KALIPI Municipal Officers: Scheduled for March 25-26 at Ammungan Hall, this training will equip women leaders with essential skills to lead effectively in their communities.

Governor Gambito expressed his steadfast support for the initiative, stating, “Empowering women is not just a goal; it is a necessity for a thriving and equitable society. In Nueva Vizcaya, we are committed to creating opportunities and breaking down barriers for women, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to lead and succeed.”

The celebration underscores the importance of unity and equality, encapsulated in the hashtag #WECanBeEquALL. The PSWD encourages everyone in the province to participate actively in these events and support the ongoing efforts to create a more equitable and inclusive society for all. /RMI
