Nueva Vizcaya Governor Supports Iglesia ni Cristo’s Nationwide Rally for Peace and Unity

Governor Jose V. Gambito has voiced his support for the nationwide rally for peace and unity organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), scheduled to take place on Monday, January 13.

The event aims to foster harmony among Filipinos amid current political tensions. Governor Gambito believes that the rally is not intended to take sides in the political rift between President Ferdinand R. Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte. “I believe that the rally is a display of solidarity and is not intended to support or oppose any political figure,” he stated, emphasizing the event’s focus on promoting peace and unity among the Filipino people.

As a strong advocate for unity among elected officials, Governor Gambito holds that collaboration among political leaders is crucial for the benefit of the public. It can be recalled that after the May 2022 elections, the late Governor Carlos M. Padilla and then Vice Governor Jose V. Gambito, who had been political rivals for almost a decade, agreed to set aside political differences and work together in unity for the benefit of the Novo Vizcayanos. “Through unity among political leaders, it is the people who will benefit,” he expressed.

The INC’s “National Rally for Peace” will be held at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila on January 13. It is expected to draw thousands of participants, including INC members and supporters from Metro Manila and nearby regions such as Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) and Central Luzon.

In addition to the main event in Manila, simultaneous rallies will take place in various cities across the Philippines, including Legazpi (Albay), Ilagan (Isabela), and Puerto Princesa (Palawan) in Luzon; Cebu, Iloilo, and Bacolod (Negros Occidental) in the Visayas; and Davao, Pagadian (Zamboanga del Sur), Butuan (Agusan del Norte), and Cagayan de Oro (Misamis Oriental) in Mindanao.

In the Cagayan Valley, sources report that over ten thousand INC members from Nueva Vizcaya will join the rally at the Ilagan City Sports Complex in Isabela. Organizers in Region 2 are expecting approximately 45,000 attendees, highlighting the widespread support for the rally’s message of peace and unity.
