In line with the implementation of Civil Service Commission (CSC) of the new dress code for government employees with the issuance of Memorandum Circular No. 16, mandates that all government workers wear “Filipiniana-inspired” attire every working Monday to promote professionalism, boost employee morale, and increase productivity, the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) participated in this new policy during their regular flag-raising ceremony at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center, Capitol, Bayombong on February 10, 2025. This is also to embrace Filipino culture and heritage in the workplace.
As part of the new guidelines, PGNV employees showcased their adherence to the policy by wearing “Filipiniana” and “barong” attire for the event. These garments, which reflect traditional Filipino culture, showcase the importance of using native fabrics in line with Republic Act No. 9242, the Philippine Tropical Fabrics Law. This law encourages the use of locally sourced materials to promote the Philippine textile industry and reduce reliance on imported fabrics. PGNV employees will be required to wear “ASEAN-inspired” attire on the 1st Monday of the month, and “Filipiniana-inspired” clothes on the second, third, and fourth Mondays of each month.
The ceremony was not only a reflection of the new dress code but also a celebration of the accomplishments of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Nueva Vizcaya. Engr. Giovannie M. Magat, the head of PENRO, took the opportunity to lay emphasis on the office’s recent achievements. Engr. Magat proudly shared that PENRO Nueva Vizcaya has been recognized as the best PENRO in the region, an honor that underscores the province’s commitment to environmental sustainability and effective governance.
Embracing Filipino cultural heritage through the dress code and celebrating environmental achievements, reflects Gov. Atty. Jose V. Gambito’s leadership and commitment in promoting a sense of pride and responsibility among government workers. With these changes, the PGNV aims to inspire public employees to embody the values of national pride and dedication to their work, which are key to driving productivity and a positive workplace culture. /jmcb
