Despite initial concerns, the province of Nueva Vizcaya has experienced minimal impact from the recent typhoon, which brought only light to moderate rainfall. According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office’s (PDRRMO) situational report, the weather conditions have been less severe than anticipated.
In a meeting held this afternoon, Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito emphasized the importance of continued vigilance. “Even though the impact of the typhoon has not been as severe as anticipated, we must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes in weather conditions,” said Governor Gambito. “Our priority is the safety and well-being of every resident, and we urge everyone to stay informed and follow safety protocols.”
The major roads leading into and out of Nueva Vizcaya remain passable, and as of 2 PM today, there have been no reported damages to agriculture or infrastructure, providing some relief to both local officials and residents. Additionally, communication and water supply systems are fully functional across the province, ensuring that residents remain connected and have access to essential resources.
Electricity supply is stable throughout the province, with the exception of Ambaguio, where a scheduled power interruption is taking place from 8 AM to 5 PM today. This is due to the pay outing of a three-phase line and the clearing of lines.
Currently, 223 families, totaling 776 individuals, have been relocated to various evacuation centers across their respective towns as a precautionary measure. The local government continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety and support of its residents.
Governor Gambito and the PDRRMO continue to encourage the public to stay informed through official channels and to cooperate with local authorities for any necessary updates or instructions as the situation develops. /RMI
