Governor Gambito Completes TUPAD Pay-out with PHP 3.415 Million Fund

Monday marked another busy day for Governor Atty. Joseph V. Gambito as he spearheaded the final leg of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers or TUPAD Pay-out event in Barangay Bonifacio, Quezon on June 22,2024 , in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Nueva Vizcaya Field Office. Last week, Governor Gambito also led TUPAD pay-out events in Ambaguio, benefiting 319 individuals, and in Aritao with 350 beneficiaries.

A total of 87 TUPAD beneficiaries, who had diligently worked for ten days, received their honorarium of PHP 4,500 each. This event is part of the PHP 5 million funding that Governor Gambito successfully secured through collaboration with the national government for the TUPAD program and the Government Internship Program (GIP).

The PHP 5 million funding is strategically divided, with PHP 3.415 million allocated for the TUPAD program and PHP 1.598 million designated for 20 GIP beneficiaries. The TUPAD program’s remaining funds have been distributed to benefit 759 individuals across various municipalities: 350 beneficiaries in Aritao, 319 in Ambaguio, and 87 in Quezon. This pay-out in Barangay Bonifacio marks the final leg of the series, following successful events in Ambaguio and Aritao.

The event saw the attendance of DOLE NV personnel headed by Gerardo Nicolas. The implementation of the program was under the supervision of the Public Employment Service Division (PESD), headed by PESO Manager Dolly Rose Minas.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Governor Gambito shared valuable insights into the various programs and initiatives offered by the Provincial Government Unit of Nueva Vizcaya. He emphasized the importance of these initiatives in uplifting the community and providing crucial support during challenging times.“

Programs like TUPAD are essential in ensuring that our most vulnerable citizens receive the support they need,” said Governor Gambito. “This program is more than just emergency employment; it is a lifeline for many families in our community. We are committed to leveraging every resource available to create opportunities for our people and to help them overcome economic hardships.

”Ms. Dolly Rose C. Minas also delivered a message to the beneficiaries. She underscored the significance of the TUPAD program and highlighted the unwavering support of the Provincial Government in ensuring the success and sustainability of such initiatives. “The Provincial Government is committed to continuously supporting our disadvantaged and displaced workers through programs like TUPAD,” Ms. Minas remarked. /RMI
