A large number of job seekers in the province of Nueva Vizcaya flocked the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center on April 22, 20225, for the Jobs Fair spearheaded by the Public Employment Services Division (PESD) under Ms. Dolly Rose Minas Senior Labor Officer. The event which is a pre-Ammungan Festival activity was organized to provide employment opportunities to the people of Nueva Vizcaya. Governor Jose V. “Jing” Gambito expressed his commitment to all the job seekers by uplifting their economic well-being through gainful employment. In his message, he shared ongoing efforts to attract large companies to the province.
“I am doing everything I can to ensure that everyone finds a job, In fact, I am now trying to convince some of the biggest companies in the Philippines, like Toyota Motors and Robinsons, to invest here in Nueva Vizcaya, ” Governor Gambito said.
Governor Gambito proudly announced that Nueva Vizcaya is now officially classified as a first-class province, and was recently recognized as the second fastest-growing economy in the country. “This is just the beginning of a major transformation. Vizcayanos should also be proud because under my administration, our province has received more than 22 national awards, including the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) — the mother of all awards. These accolades reflect how efficiently and transparently we are managing our provincial funds for the benefit of our people,” he said.
Governor Gambito ended his message with a promise. “As long as I am your governor, I will do everything to make our province even better.”
The Jobs Fair featured multiple partner employers from both local and national levels, offering vacancies in various fields such as customer service, construction, sales, and healthcare, among others. Ms. Minas confirmed that more employment and skills training activities are in the pipeline as part of the province’s continuous effort to connect jobseekers with opportunities, not just during festivals, but all year round.
The event is part of the weeklong celebration leading up to the 2025 Grand Ammungan Festival, which highlights the cultural pride of the Vizcayano people.The Jobs Fair was one of the major kickoff events of the week-long GAF celebration, which highlights the cultural pride of the Vizcayano people.
