Gov. Gambito Strengthens Local Economies with Livelihood Program Awards

Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito presided over the awarding ceremony of DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) Kits to 43 beneficiaries from various municipalities in Nueva Vizcaya at the FTM Building on July 25, 2024. With a total project funding of 1.2 million pesos, this initiative highlights the provincial government’s dedication to promoting sustainable livelihoods and driving economic development within the community.

Governor Gambito emphasized the provincial government’s strong commitment to supporting local livelihoods. “Our administration is dedicated to empowering our citizens with the tools and knowledge they need to build sustainable livelihoods. This program is a testament to our effort to uplift the economic well-being of our communities,” he stated.

The event featured a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping participants with essential skills. Ms. Dolly Rose C. Minas, PESD head, conducted a session on simple bookkeeping, helping beneficiaries understand the importance of financial management in their ventures.

The event was attended by several key individuals, including Ms. Menzie M. Valite, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Head of the Department of Labor and Employment Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE NVFO), Mr. Gerardo M. Nicolas, SrLEO and DILEEP Unit Head, and Ms. Marietta B. Calpo, Administrative Aide VI (ADA VI) and DILP Focal Person. Their presence reinforced the collaborative spirit of the event.

The training was a joint effort involving multiple government agencies. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) provided emergency first aid training, while the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) facilitated sessions on work values development. Additionally, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) offered entrepreneurship training, empowering participants with the knowledge to effectively manage and grow their livelihood projects.

The distribution of DILP kits represents a crucial commitment by the provincial government to foster sustainable livelihoods and economic resilience within Nueva Vizcaya. By equipping beneficiaries with the skills and resources they need, the program aims to create lasting positive change in the lives of its participants. /RMI
