Gov. Gambito Secures P11 Million to Launch Skill Development Program in Nueva Vizcaya

In a bid to enhance employment prospects for Novo Vizcayanos, Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito has successfully acquired P11 million in funding from the office of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez. This funding is earmarked for a comprehensive skill training program designed to empower residents of Nueva Vizcaya.

The new initiative, conceptualized by Gov. Gambito, will be implemented by the Public Employment Service Division (PESD) in partnership with TESDA Nueva Vizcaya. According to PESD Manager Dolly Rose S. Minas, the program will offer a variety of skills training seminars throughout the province. Courses will include shielded metal arc welding, hair and nail culture, automotive servicing, computer hardware servicing, massage therapy, caregiving, and more.

The training sessions will be conducted at TESDA-accredited schools within the province. Each batch will accommodate a maximum of 25 participants. The program is expected to commence before the end of the current year.

Participants who complete the training will receive an NC2 certification from TESDA, which can be used to pursue employment opportunities, including those abroad.

Governor Gambito envisions this program as a means to stimulate economic growth and personal advancement among Novo Vizcayanos. By investing in skill development, he aims to create a more skilled workforce, open up new employment opportunities, and ultimately improve the quality of life for residents. This initiative highlights his commitment to fostering sustainable development and economic resilience in the province. /RMI
