In a meeting with the members of the Provincial Population Coordinating Committee (PPCC) headed by Ms. Elvira G. Tongson, Population Program Officer IV, Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, urges the group to carefully address the identified issues, particularly emphasizing the need to prioritize teenage pregnancy concerns and avoid addressing multiple problems simultaneously.
He mentioned to leverage social media expertise for disseminating information and promoting projects, instead of relying solely on traditional lectures. He believe that such approach will enhance outreach and engagement with the community that will ensure more effective communication of the population development initiatives.
The discussion presided by Gov. Gambito was also focused on the formulation of the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial PopDev Plan of Action where Ms. Theresa C. Soriano from the Commission on Population and Development presented an in-depth discussion on Cagayan Valley population trends and issues. She highlighted proposed strategies for youth and gender development, aligning closely with Governor Gambito’s ongoing initiatives to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for the young population.
Governor Gambito’s broader agenda of integrating population -focused strategies in the PPCC action planning was highlighted during the PPCC 2nd quarter meeting held on June 18, 2024, which he consider an approach to long-term progress and resilience for the population development of the province.
