GJVG outsources funds to assist Super Typhoon Vics

On November 27, 2024, Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito led the distribution of cash assistance to residents of Kayapa who suffered significant losses due to the devastation of Super Typhoon Pepito. The initiative, which benefited 333 individuals from various barangays, received Php 3,000.00 each and was made possible through the sponsorship of Senator Manuel “Lito” M. Lapid.

The affected residents, from communities across the municipality, received the financial assistance to aid in their recovery and help rebuild their lives. Beneficiaries included residents from barangays such as Pinkian, San Fabian, Nansiakan, Tubongan, Alang-Salacsac, Castillo Village, Taleccabcab, Balangabang, Pampang, Pangawan, Baan, and Tidang Village.

Gov. Gambito pointed out the commitment of both local and national governments to recovery efforts, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between officials in responding to the disaster’s aftermath. The cash assistance aims to ease the financial hardship of families who lost their homes, crops, and livelihoods due to the typhoon. With Sen. Lapid’s support and Gov. Gambito’s leadership, the relief program is just the beginning, with plans for additional recovery efforts underway.

“We will find solutions to improve the lives of our people here in the province. Many other towns have been affected, with residents losing their homes, livestock swept away by floods, and roads and bridges destroyed. We must continue to support them in their recovery, and I ask everyone to help each other. As long as I am Governor, I will use all my powers to assist and improve the welfare of our province and its people,” Gov. Gambito stated.

The initiative also involved partnerships with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Provincial Social Welfare Development (PSWD), and the Public Employment Service Division (PESD) of Governor’s office, all of which remain committed to ensure that typhoon victims receive continued support.

Cash relief was similarly distributed in the towns of Aritao and Ambaguio. PESD also helped in the distribution of assistance to other victims at the People’s Stage Capitol in Bayombong. Under Gov. Gambito’s leadership, the event marked another important step in rebuilding the community and demonstrated the unity of both local and national leaders in addressing the needs of the affected residents. /jmcb
