Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, through the Provincial Task Force “Serbisyo Karaban” (PTF SK) chaired by Provincial Jail Warden Carmelo B. Andrada, in collaboration with the Municipal Local Government Unit of Alfonso Castañeda led by Mayor Wilson M. Capia-ao, and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), conducted a “Serbisyo Karaban” in Brgy. Abuyo, Alfonso Castañeda, on December 12, 2024. The program, following Gov. Atty. Jose V. Gambito’s instruction is intended to extend essential services to remote areas such as Brgy. Abuyo.
“It was Governor Gambito’s order to position a service caravan here in Brgy. Abuyo. Gov. Gambito seeks to extend the provincial government’s services to distant areas like Brgy. Abuyo, making certain that residents do not have to travel all the way to the Provincial Capitol to access these services,” Warden Andrada said.
The “Serbisyo Karaban” provided a wide range of free services to the residents of Brgy. Abuyo, which included free haircuts, medical consultations, the distribution of slippers and school supplies, as well as a community feeding activity. The event also featured a lecture on anti-communism and terrorism, a raffle draw, and the distribution of relief goods, guaranteeing the well-being of all attendees.
Health services were made available as medical personnel from Provincial Integrated Health Office (PIHO), Region II Trauma and Medical Center (R2TMC), Provincial Department of Health Office, Dupax District Hospital and Bagabag District Hospital conducted medical consultations to assess the health conditions of the residents. Other Provincial offices like the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management office (PDRRMO), and Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Jail (NVPJ) were on hand to offer more specialized services.
In addition, national government agencies (NGAs), such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), National Intelligence and Coordinating Agency (NICA), and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), also contributed to the event’s success. Military support was also provided by the 203rd Reserve Command and the 84th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.
Under Gov. Gambito’s leadership, this collaborative effort showcased the commitment of both the local and national government in delivering comprehensive support and essential services to the residents of Brgy. Abuyo and its neighboring areas, further reinforcing the spirit of “Gayyem ti Umili”. /jmcb
