
Anchored on the theme “First Steps Towards a Brighter Future, ninety five ((95) Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) learners celebrated their Moving-Up Ceremony on April 23, 2025 at the People’s Stage, Capitol, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
The ceremony recognized the children’s completion of the ECCD curriculum, which prepares them for formal schooling under the Department of Education’s kindergarten program.
Spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) under the leadership of Ms. Flordelina C. Granada, the ECCD Program workforce include Ms. Vernice H. Balingue, Program Coordinator for the Children and Youth Welfare Program; Ms. Jeanette J. Erese, Provincial ECCD Focal Person, ECCD teachers Joan Mae D. Viado and Jesieca F. Leprozo, and administrative support staff Menzel M. Ancheta.Ms. Granada emphasized the importance of investing in early childhood.
“What happens in early childhood will have a great impact on their future, We are committed to supporting the children and their parents every step of the way. The children we care for today will be the ones to care for the future of our province,” Ms. Granada said.
She also delivered the message of Governor Jose V. Gambito, who extended his gratitude to the parents for their endless care and support for their children.
“Thank you for entrusting your children to the Capitol Child Development Program. Rest assured that I will do my best in helping you prepare your children for their bright future. And I encourage you to inspire your children to dream big and reach for their goals.” Ms. Granada quoted Gov. Gambito.
The ECCD Program implemented by the PSWDO, in partnership with local government units aims to promote holistic development among children ages 3–5 years old by focusing on health, nutrition, early education, and social care.The PSWDO through the Office of the Governor has been instrumental in aligning the provincial government’s commitment to support early childhood development programs.
Gov. Gambito’s administration has launched a series of initiatives aimed at nurturing the physical, cognitive, and emotional growth of young children in the province including the establishment of child-friendly facilities, that seeks to build a strong and healthy community, “Our goal is to create a nurturing and supportive environment for our children We believe that active participation from parents and guardians is essential in achieving this,” Ms. Granada said.
The program ended with a tribute to teachers Joan Mae D. Viado and Jesieca F. Leprozo, recognizing their commitment and support to the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program and its young learners, nurturing children under their care. /gpp
