Bambang Mayor Benjamin “Jamie” Cuaresma has extended his congratulations to Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito on his recent election as governor of Nueva Vizcaya. The gesture, made through an official letter, reflects the municipality’s support for the new administration and highlights hopes for strengthened unity and progress in the province.
In his letter, Mayor Cuaresma commended Governor Gambito’s leadership and commitment to public service, citing the governor’s guiding principle of “Gayyem It Umili,” which emphasizes serving the community with humility and dedication. Cuaresma also acknowledged Gambito’s advocacy for unity and integrity, noting that these values are vital for the province’s continued development and solidarity.
Mayor Cuaresma, son of Congresswoman Luisa “Banti” Cuaresma—Governor Gambito’s closest opponent in the last election—also expressed the municipality’s aspiration for cityhood. He requested the governor’s support for Bambang’s bid, stating that cityhood would create more opportunities and contribute to the overall advancement of Nueva Vizcaya.
Governor Gambito welcomed the mayor’s message, expressing gratitude for the support and spirit of cooperation. “I am grateful for Mayor Cuaresma’s gesture and for his openness to collaboration. As public servants, it is our responsibility to put the welfare of our people above all else. I look forward to working closely with all local leaders to ensure that Nueva Vizcaya continues to move forward and that every Vizcayano feels the positive impact of our collective efforts,” Gambito said.
Governor Gambito has always been a strong advocate of unity, believing that bringing together the province’s leaders and communities is essential to achieving meaningful and lasting progress for Nueva Vizcaya. /RMI
