Newly-elected Congressman Timothy Joseph E. Cayton formally articulated his vision for a “Brand New Nueva Vizcaya” as he took his oath of office during the joint oath-taking ceremony for national and provincial officials, held June 30 at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center.
In his address, Cong. Cayton underscored that “Brand New Nueva Vizcaya” is not a mere slogan or a collection of catchy words, but a profound vision he carries for the province’s future. “Ang Brand New Nueva Vizcaya ay mga salita na hindi lamang basta pinitas sa hangin o iniukit sa tubig! Ito ay isang pangitain ng magandang hangarin—isang vision na personal kong iniaalay para sa ating lalawigan,” Cayton said.
Cayton, who previously served as mayor of Dupax del Norte, shared how his aspirations have grown alongside his responsibilities. “When I assumed as Mayor, I dreamed big for my town Dupax del Norte. Now that I am the Congressman, I dream even bigger for Nueva Vizcaya,” he declared.
He described his vision of a “Brand New Nueva Vizcaya” as one that encompasses prosperity, sustainable development, and lasting progress for all Vizcayanos. Cayton also highlighted the shared commitment between his office and the provincial government, led by Governor Atty. Jose Gambito, to work towards this common goal
.“The call for unity by Governor Gambito, coupled with our collective vision, will pave the way for exponential progress in our province,” Cayton said. “My presence here in this historic event is a clear-cut indication of my unwavering support and devotion to the provincial government’s mission-vision for Nueva Vizcaya.”
Cayton expressed gratitude for the trust and support of the people, saying he draws strength and courage from their faith in his leadership. He called for unity, cooperation, and a forward-looking approach as the first steps towards realizing his vision.
“With the overwhelming support and trust of the people of Nueva Vizcaya, I have strong faith, abundant confidence, and sky-is-the-limit courage that together, under the leadership of our good Governor, we can reach the promised land described in our mission-vision,” Cayton said. “Lahat ng ito ay makakamtan natin sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaisa, pagtutulungan, at sabay-sabay na pagkilos—ito ang unang hakbang tungo sa isang Brand New Nueva Vizcaya.” /RMI
