LMET unveils new facilities in inauguration ceremony, boosting Provincial Tourism

A new chapter unfolds for the Lower Magat Eco- Tourism (LMET) Park in Diadi as it celebrated the official blessing and inauguration of its newly completed facilities under the administration of Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, on May 6, 2025, opening new opportunities in the province’s tourism development activities.

The event celebrated the completion and full functionality of the LMET Conference Hall, a Multi- Purpose Building, and a large swimming pool, all designed to enhance visitor experience and support various recreational, cultural, and community activities at the eco-tourism site. These new services are expected to expand the park’s appeal to both local and non-local tourists.

Spearheaded by the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office (PTCO), led by Acting PTC Officer Marichelle O. Costales, the ceremony was graced by former Governor Ruth R. Padilla, along with department heads and division chiefs from the provincial government.

As Nueva Vizcaya’s flagship tourism destination, LMET Park spans 1,200 hectares within the 24,000-hectare Lower Magat Forest Reserve. It offers a unique blend of eco-adventure and cultural heritage, featuring accommodations ranging from traditional huts inspired by the Isinays and Ifugao tribes to modern structures like the two- storey Yakal Hall.

Furthermore, visitors can immerse themselves in a variety of nature-based experiences, including swimming, boating, camping, and guided cultural tours, all set amid the lush and scenic backdrop of the Sierra Madre Mountain range.

The event wrapped up with a traditional blessing and a walkthrough of the newly completed facilities, ushering in a fresh phase for LMET Park and the wider tourism landscape of the province. /jmcb
