Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya – The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) convened on March 26, 2025, at the PIHO Function Hall, Capitol Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, to review and approve the 2026 Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan. The meeting is in accordance with security, peace, and safety strategies with the province’s development goals. Co-facilitated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Catherine G. Allam-Miranda, the discussion presented the respective POPS plans of the key member agencies.
Provincial Warden Carmelo B. Andrada acknowledged the PPOC members who have completed their submission and urged those who have yet to finalize their documents to do so promptly. The finalized plans are necessary for the upcoming 2026 Annual Investment Plan (AIP) of the province, which will be prepared this April.
Following a thorough review, the council officially approved the POPS plans presented, subject to the submission of required documents for final approval by Governor Jose V. Gambito, who consistently emphasized the need for cohesive efforts among PPOC members to address the security and public safety needs of Nueva Vizcaya. As always, he believe that a well-coordinated approach would reinforce his administration’s vision of a safer and more progressive province.
Provincial Warden Andrada expressed the importance of the POPS Plan in the province’s eligibility for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) assessment, and assures that all government initiatives work together towards achieving the security and safety goals of a drug-cleared Nueva Vizcaya, a fire-free province , a Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC)-free community, and an insurgency-free province.
“As the province prepares for the next SGLG assessment, the Provincial Governor urged all agencies to work together to fully implement their respective POPS plans. The success of these initiatives will not only strengthen peace and order but also contribute to Nueva Vizcaya’s overall growth and development,” Warden Andrada said. /gpp
