The distribution of the “Trabaho Para Ti Umili” (TrPaTU) payout, under the leadership of Gov. Atty. Jose V. Gambito, was led by the Public Employment Service Division (PESD) of the Governor’s Office, headed by Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Dolly Rose C. Minas. The event took place at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, on February 11, 2025.
More than 500 workers from the municipalities of Sta. Fe, Solano, Dupax del Sur, and Quezon received P5,000 payout each. Additional beneficiaries included members of associations such as OFW, Abot Palad, and TIBIK.
The “Trabaho Para Ti Umili” (TrPaTU) program is a localized version of the Department of Labor and Employment’s TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers). It provides employment opportunities to unemployed, underemployed, and low-income Novo Vizcayanos. TrPaTU workers earn P500 a day, or P5,000 for ten days, by engaging in community-based projects in their respective barangays, such as cleaning and maintaining public parks and spaces.
The PESD adopted the DOLE’s system to ensure that individuals who participated in the TUPAD program last year would not be included in the TrPaTU program, making room for those who had not been beneficiaries of TUPAD. This initiative, spearheaded by Gov. Gambito, is designed to assist those who have lost their jobs and were excluded from TUPAD benefits.
Gov. Gambito’s commitment in supporting marginalized communities is reflected in programs such as “Lisensya Mo, Sagut Ni Gayyem ti Umili,” Wifi ti Umili, and “Trabaho Para ti Umili.” These initiatives demonstrate his dedication to address the needs of the marginalized, making sure they are seen and valued within the community. jmcb
