The various committees and persons-in-charge convened for the first organizational meeting for the Grand Ammungan Festival 2025, conducted today, January 28, 2025, in the Paniqui Hall of the Executive Building at the Capitol Compound, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
The Grand Ammungan Festival is scheduled from the 22nd to the 24th of May, a three-day event that includes the province’s offerings in culture, tourism, and consumer products. The festival aims to showcase the natural beauty and tourism potential of Nueva Vizcaya and the livelihood of its constituents and is projected to boost the domestic income of the province. Such points were incorporated into discussions of the festival’s theme and branding. While the theme is yet to be finalized, the branding, designed by Mr. Reilexies Milo, incorporated the provincial flower, the Camia, and the various indigenous communities of all 15 municipalities into the official logo for the Grand Ammungan Festival.
These points were reiterated by Ms. Marichelle O. Costales, Director General of the Grand Ammungan Festival, who presided over the discussions as concerns were raised and addressed over the province’s biggest and most anticipated event. The concerns were centered around issues from last year’s celebration, now to be used as learning points to do better by the present. In particular, Ms. Rhoda Moreno, Assistant Director for Finance, emphasized the difference of 2025 also being an Election year, necessitating the greater scrutiny of the funding and the reliance not on the constituents and voters, but on the government.
In an earlier gathering, Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito stated that if the coming festival could not surpass the previous year’s, it should at least equal it. “We are looking forward to another successful celebration,” he added. While dates, details, and designs are yet to be finalized, the early planning and initiative of the provincial government at the behest of Gov. Gambito is centered around the goal of a successful Grand Ammungan Festival 2025 and its far-reaching effects throughout the whole of Nueva Vizcaya. /igmb
