The Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, led by Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, has been recognized with the Outstanding eNGAS User Entity Award. This prestigious award was presented by the Government Financial Management Innovators Circle, Inc. (GFMICI) during their 2024 Awarding Ceremonies and Membership Conference on November 21 at the Crown Legacy Hotel in Baguio City.
Provincial Accountant Yunisa D. Patricio accepted the award on behalf of Governor Gambito and presented it to the Local Chief Executive and other provincial officials during today’s flag-raising ceremony. This accolade highlights the province’s commitment to excellence in financial management and governance.
Governor Gambito expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This award is a testament to our steadfast commitment to transparency and accountability in governance. It reflects the hard work and dedication of our provincial employees who have united in their efforts to achieve excellence.”
He further noted, “In just over a year of my administration, our provincial government has become multi-awarded, thanks to the unity and diligent work of our provincial government employees.”
Ms. Patricio emphasized that the award recognizes the dedication and perseverance of the Provincial Accounting Office in utilizing the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS) to submit financial statements within the prescribed period set by the Commission on Audit, highlighting the province’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its financial practices.
Nueva Vizcaya is one of only four provinces across the country to receive this distinguished recognition. The eNGAS award is a new category introduced to honor national government agencies, provinces, cities, and municipalities that have submitted a complete set of eNGAS-generated consolidated financial reports free of material errors, on or before the due date set by the Commission on Audit.
This recognition underscores Nueva Vizcaya’s dedication to good governance and financial transparency, setting a benchmark for other provinces to emulate. The effective use of eNGAS has streamlined accounting processes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial reports and reinforcing the province’s commitment to excellence. /RMI
