The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) led by DMW personnel Ms. Johanna U. Taberna in coordination with the Public Employment Service Division (PESD) headed by PESO Manager Ms. Dolly Rose Minas together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as the seminar and training for Financial Awareness/ Small Business Management and the awarding of livelihood assistance and teaching kits of “Sa Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir” were conducted on July 19, 2024 at Ammungan Hall, Capitol Compound, Bayombong.
DTI administered a financial awareness seminar particularly on managing a small business to the awardees of the livelihood assistance. Ms. Precious Mae Marzan of Negosyo Center- Bagabag, discussed how to start a business by considering the process of producing and selling of good/services, the different business categories, and the key characteristics of a successful business owner. On the other hand, Ms. Jonalyn Peralta of Negosyo Center- Sta. Fe, talked about the sources of business ideas and financial literacy. The said seminar was necessary for the completion of the recipients’ application forms for business site inspection.
The livelihood assistance ranging from P10,000 up to P30,000 and other teaching kits were awarded by the DMW together with PESO Manager Minas to the beneficiaries. DMW reminded the recipients to use the money in buying other teaching materials for the benefit of their students as well as in putting up a business.
DMW is responsible for the protection of the rights and promoting the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and their families. The provincial government under the administration of Governor Atty. Jose “Jing” V. Gambito and the DMW has been continuously providing support for the said beneficiaries. /jmcb
