Visa Fast-Tracked for Husband of OFW Nurse Killed in UAE Car Crash

In a swift response to a tragic event, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are expediting the visa processing for Kenneth Paul Ancheta. He is the husband of Reyna Jane Donelo-Ancheta, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) nurse who was tragically killed in a car crash on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Reyna, 32, had recently begun her role at Al Raiaa Home Health Care in the UAE, having previously worked in Saudi Arabia. Her untimely death leaves her family, including her two young children—a 12-year-old son and a seven-year-old daughter—grieving and in need of support.

Governor Attorney Jose V. Gambito of Nueva Vizcaya has taken immediate action, instructing the Nueva Vizcaya OFW Center, under the Public Employment Service Division of his office, to coordinate with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). This collaboration aims to facilitate Kenneth Paul’s urgent travel to the UAE to repatriate his wife’s remains.

In light of the family’s concerns about potential foul play in Reyna’s death, the Nueva Vizcaya OFW Welfare Center has also requested a comprehensive investigation from the Department of Migrant Workers.

Expressing his condolences, Governor Gambito stated, “Our hearts go out to the Ancheta family during this incredibly difficult time. We are committed to providing all the necessary support and assistance to ensure that Reyna’s family receives the help they need and that justice is served.”

Governor Gambito has assured the family of his unwavering support, emphasizing the provincial government’s dedication to standing by the Ancheta family in their hour of need.

As the investigation proceeds, the Filipino community, both in the UAE and in the Philippines, continues to rally around the Ancheta family, offering their heartfelt condolences and unwavering support. /RMI
