The newly elected 18 Young Provincial Officials of 2025 were given a stupendous opportunity to experience governance firsthand during a special session held at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Hall on November 3, 2025, following the flag-raising ceremony at the Provincial Capitol.
Accompanied by their advisers and respective adult counterparts, the young leaders were immersed in the actual workings of the provincial legislative body, gaining valuable insights into the processes of public service and policymaking.
During the session, the young officials actively participated in the reading of proposed resolutions focusing on the issues concerning the environment, specifically the Watershed Protection Act, as well as dried and wet palay productivity and price issues to help farmers, among others. Working closely with their adult mentors, they showcased confidence, leadership, and a genuine desire to contribute to the betterment of their communities.
Representing Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito and Vice Governor Eufemia A. Dacayo and leading the team were Young Governor Arieston S. Galano of Diadi National High School and Young Vice Governor Axle Dave L. Conde of Lamo National High School, respectively. Representing the North District were Young Board Member Michael Duane F. Buduan of Bagabag National High School with counterpart Hon. Eunice Galima-Gambol; Young Board Member Daryll C. Saludares of Bintawan National High School with Hon. John Severino G. Bagasao; Young Board Member Marc Justin D. Pimentel of Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School with Hon. Primo Percival J. Marcos; Young Board Member Jordan D. Cagurangan of Saint Jerome’s Academy of Bagabag Inc. with Hon. Wilson D. Salas; and Young Board Member Jerianne Zhanely D. Sanchez of Muir Woods Inc. with Hon. Flodemonte S. Gerdan.
From the South District were Young Board Member Rzel A. Flores of Sta. Fe National High School with Hon. Luisa Corazon LL. Cuaresma; Young Board Member Norvin P. Kitdiatan of Belance Technical Vocational School with Hon. Leah D. Tidang; Young Board Member Romel P. Bandayrel of Bugkalot High School with Hon. Leonard Clemens L. Cadoy; Young Board Member Aru Yzabelle C. Felix of St. Mary’s School of Dupax Inc. with Hon. Emerlene Jane Galanta-Martinez; and Young Board Member Marionne Justine E. Vipinosa of Dupax del Norte National High School with Hon. Pablo P. Kindot.
For the Ex-Officio positions, Young Board Member Princess Dianne E. Angel of Bambang National High School worked with Hon. Nickson C. Millo; Young Board Member Ameer Bandar Sallaf L. Al Shammari of Philippine Science High School–Cagayan Valley Campus with Hon. John M. Babli-ing; Young Board Member Kristine Angela O. Sonday of Solano High School with Hon. Dawn Ranee Valtoribio-Algura; and Young Board Member Joshley Vergil B. Dulnuan of Murong National High School with Hon. Castillo B. Tidang Jr. Completing the young officials were Young Provincial Administrator Zhalani Kaine G. Layugan of Aldersgate College Inc. with Mr. Jovito O. Celestino, and Young SP Secretary Rhian Rechie C. Ramos of Top Achievers Private School Inc. with Mr. Moises Dominick G. Ruam Jr.
The event highlighted the province’s commitment in strengthening the youth and nurturing future leaders through meaningful exposure to governance. Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito has been vocal about his belief that the youth are the leaders of tomorrow, and programs like this serve as platforms for young citizens to learn, serve, and lead. The experience not only fortified the participants’ appreciation for public service but also inspired them to become responsible, active, and visionary leaders for the future of Nueva Vizcaya. #jmcb
