
As part of the pre-activities for the Grand Ammungan Festival 2026, the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), headed by Governor Jose V. Gambito, successfully conducted the “Tugtugan sa Lagoon” and the ceremonial lighting of “Silaw ti Umili: Glow of a Thousand Wishes” despite the heavy rain on May 19, 2026, at the Lagoon Area, Capitol, Bayombong.
“Tugtugan sa Lagoon” not only highlighted the talents of Novo Vizcayano artists but also provided an opportunity for families and friends to relax and enjoy the vibrant music scene of Nueva Vizcaya. It served as a platform for local bands, talented singers, and performers to showcase their talents and entertain the public through live performances.
The local bands and artists that performed on day 1 tugtugan were Bugkalot Band, Mia Sylvanah, Art Rock Band, Cosmic Circle and Punla. They performed modern hits, rocks, classic filipino songs and owned composition songs, creating a lively and festive vibes in the area.
Alongside was the ceremonial lighting of “Silaw ti Umili:Glow of a Thousand Wishes” led by Director General Eunice Galima-Gambol, Vice Governor Eufemia Ang Dacayo, Board Member Flodemonte S. Gerdan, Board Member and PCL President Dawn Ranee V. Algura, ADG for events Marichelle O. Costales and Rhoda S. Moreno, ADG for Finance Kristine B. Hernandez, and ADG for Admin Kathyleen D. Marcelo . The ceremony illuminated the Capitol grounds, symbolizing unity, hope and the much-awaited beginning of the Grand Ammungan Festival celebration.
In spite of getting wet under the rain, guests and visitors gathered at the capitol grounds that brought excitement and joy to every Novo Vizcayano, supporting local talents, bands and artists.
As the lights brightened the Lagoon area, the celebration marked the approaching Grand Ammungan Festival 2026, bringing Novo Vizcayano together in a vibrant display of culture and strengthening unity through music and cultural appreciation. /ctu
