Droves queue for PGNV’s walk-in vaccination

Hundreds flocked on October 28 at the Nueva Vizcaya Convention Center (NVCC), Provincial Capitol, Bayombong to get a COVID-19 jab, just about a day after news on the opening of the walk-in vaccination by the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV) was posted on social media.

This initiative of the PGNV being spearheaded by the Provincial Integrated Health Office (PIHO) came after it had vaccinated practically all its officials and rank-and-file, along with their family members, including employees of national government agencies and the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU).

It was aimed at helping the national government fast track the vaccination efforts, while, at the same time, creating a safer and healthier local environment for the continued and much smoother delivery of services to constituents amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Ms. Ranee C. Ganacias, PIHO’s National Immunization Program Coordinator for COVID-19 Vaccination, said that they are accepting until tomorrow constituents from all municipalities of the province who are at least 18 years of age. “Senior citizens are highly prioritized”, she added.

Dr. Edwin B. Galapon, PIHO Chief and concurrent Chairperson of the Provincial Task Group on COVID-19 Executive Committee, said that the PGNV aims to have at least 70% of the province’s population being fully vaccinated by the end of the year.

“On November 2, our team will be at the NVSU for the vaccination of their students and, on the following day, in Kasibu for the town’s Capisaan Cave tour guides and their families. We shall be resuming our walk-in vaccination on November 8-12 at the NVCC. Meanwhile, we have set the administration of Flu vaccines for interested constituents on November 4 at the same venue.”, he disclosed.
