In the Taripnong press conference hosted by the Public Affairs and Information Assistance Division on April 10, 2026, Grand Ammungan Festival Director General Eunice Galima-Gambol presented the modified calendar of activities for the GAF 2026, accompanied by Assistant Director Generals Marichelle O. Costales and Rhoda S. Moreno.
Due to the ongoing State of Calamity and the austerity measures enforced by Executive Order no. 110, the pre-planned five-day event was reduced to a one-day event, on May 21, 2026. In the first official statement being made on March 31, 2026, Director General Galima-Gambol acknowledged the difficulty of the present situation and reiterated her promise to deliver a celebration that reflects the Novo Vizcayano spirit.
The tentative calendar of activities for the GAF 2026 will move forward with the Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya pageant, with the Sashing Ceremony, Press Conference, photo and video shoots, Swimsuit competition, and panel interview included as pre-Ammungan activities. Other pre-Ammungan activities are the Ammungan Job Fair and the Kugit para ti Umili, both of which will take place in the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center on May 6-7 and May 13, 2026, respectively.
One key difference from previous years is the pre-Ammungan opening of the Gawang Vizcayano Exhibit and Trade Fair, which will have a Ribbon-Cutting on May 18, 2026, and stay open until May 30, 2026. The revival of the Nueva Vizcaya Got Talent was also pushed forward, with the Semi-Finals to be held on May 2, 2026, and the final showdown on the day of the festival, May 21, 2026.
The Grand Ammungan Festival 2026 will continue with its previous services of seeds and fingerlings distribution, while also including the relatively new services of the Professional Regulation Commission from May 21-22, 2026. An awarding of Plaques to LGUs and Tourism Enterprises on Compliance in the Visitor Statistics System will take place. The Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya Coronation Night will cap off the 2026 founding anniversary celebrations.
Despite extenuating circumstances, the provincial government is determined to deliver a celebration that befits the diverse cultural spirit of the province on the 187th anniversary of the founding of Nueva Vizcaya. /igmb
