Saniata Candidates Educated on State of NV Tourism

Immediately following the Sashing and Press Conference, the 10 candidates of the Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2026 attended their Tourism Awareness Seminar. A fixture of the Saniata series of events, the seminar brings the candidates up to date and informed on tourism in the province to prepare them for their prospective role as a tourism ambassador.

The seminar consisted of short lectures from the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office (PTCO) and Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2025 Karen Guieb. The topics were comprised of relevant facts, up-to-date statistics, and tourism developments, the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE), and the experiences and lessons learnt by the current Saniata during her tenure.

Supervising Tourism Officer Sharen G. Bonayon relayed a Situationer Report on Nueva Vizcaya tourism. According to this report, tourism from 2024 to 2025 saw a 9% increase in tourist arrivals, largely by same-day visitors or excursionists, while Ambaguio’s SkyScape 360 continues to hold its place as the most visited attraction. The report also included a rundown on all tourism attractions recognized by the PTCO and earmarked for further development while in operation.

Tourism Operations Assistant Aedam Elizaga lectured on the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence, a protocol provided by the Department of Tourism to ensure preparedness among tourism stakeholders in delivering excellent service to tourists. The FBSE roots its standards in Filipino values, especially hospitality, patriotism, environmental stewardship, etc. The candidates also brushed up on tourism taglines and greetings per municipality.

Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2025 Karen Guieb testified on her year-long experience, during which she had participated and joined in such developments, most recently the NueHABIzcaya Weaving Circuit launched in February, as well as promoting many creative and natural tourism sites around the province. Through her position, Ms. Guieb had also implemented in some areas her own program Libro Ko, Kinabukasan Ko, which aims to improve child literacy in the province through provision of materials and classes.

As part of the Grand Ammungan Festival events, the Tourism Awareness seminar is an essential fixture in informing the future Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2026 of their prospective duties in tourism. /igmb
