The Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO), under Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito’s flagship program Project GAYYEM, enacted a financial assistance payout for solo parents and back-to-school indigent citizens on June 29, 2026, at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center.

According to PSWDO Flordelina Granada, the payout addressed a third batch of low-income solo parents from the municipalities of Aritao, Bagabag, Bambang, Bayombong, Solano, and Villaverde. The recipients numbered 1270, each to receive 5000 pesos in liquid cash from the Project GAYYEM fund. Earlier this month, a payout was conducted for 1400 college students and solo parents from Diadi, Kasibu, and Quezon, as well as another payout for 417 solo parents from Ambaguio, Dupax del Sur, and Kayapa.

As defined by the PSWDO, solo parents are those without partners through verifiable circumstances such as separation, death, or secondary guardianship in the case of OFWs, with children under the age of 22. These individuals are counted and encouraged to avail of a government-issued solo parent ID for other benefits.

Solo parents with minor dependents are qualified for the payout, as stated by Granada, though requisite documents such as the solo parent ID and other paperwork often require case reports by social workers and verification by the barangay local government unit.

This month’s payout for solo parents would be the last for the year, with the PSWDO to conduct further payouts targeting 4ps households, college students, etc. Previous Project GAYYEM financial assistance payouts have benefitted 4Ps, persons with disabilities, returned OFWs, individuals in crisis situations, vehicle drivers, etc.

The PSWDO with Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito continues to display their awareness and willingness to address the everyday struggles of the citizens of the province through Project GAYYEM. Governor Gambito would continue similar assistance programs to ensure that those in marginalized sectors feel the support of the provincial government during difficult times. /igmb
