Project GAYYEM Provides for Jeepney Drivers

On June 4, 2026, a financial assistance payout under Project GAYYEM, the flagship program of Governor Atty. Jose V. Gambito, was conducted by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) at the People’s Stage, Capitol Compound, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

Over 400 beneficiaries were identified by the PSWDO with the help of the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PROCEDE). The main recipients are member workers of transport group cooperatives, particularly jeepney and minibus drivers residing in Nueva Vizcaya.

Nearly all municipalities are represented at the payout, with cooperatives coming from Solano, Aritao, Kasibu, Kayapa, Quezon, etc. The 5000-peso cash assistance is funded under the PSWDO’s GAYYEM fund, amounting to over 2-million for more than 400 recipients. A second batch payout for non-recipients with documentary deficiencies may be conducted at a later date.

The Project GAYYEM and other offshoot programs under Governor Gambito’s banner had also previously targeted tricycle drivers, persons with disabilities, solo parents, returned OFWs, individuals in crisis situations, and others, for financial assistance.

The provincial government led by Governor Gambito continues to put the constituency first in its conduct of such activities as financial assistance distribution. /igmb
