
During the Flag Raising Ceremony held on April 13, 2026, the Provincial General Services Office as the sponsors of the event detailed their achievements in the provision of assistance to the provincial government for the first quarter of 2026.
The PGSO as an office, beyond their technical service provision, is also Chair of the Provincial Records Management Inventory Committee, the Provincial Appraisal and Disposal Committee, and the Provincial Inventory and Inspection Committee. As such, PGS Officer Kathyleen D. Marcelo requested all PGNV offices in her speech to ‘prepare and account for all items and equipment under their custody to ensure a fast and smooth inventory process’, as the office and committee conduct the inventory for the first quarter.
Last year, the PGSO’s Security Division was first in the region to granted a license of operation, owing to its regular conduct of marksmanship training sessions for new hires to ‘ensure operational readiness’. Presently, security and protection throughout all PLGU-owned facilities and properties is maintained 24/7 by the PGSO ‘across 22 security posts’.
The office also addressed a total of 121 requests for essential technical services such as minor repairs and improvements. 3 projects out of 12 approved programs of works are in progress, for ‘major repairs, maintenance, and rehabilitation’. As far as solid waste management, the PGSO had collected 12000 sacks of non-bio- and biodegradable waste in in the first quarter.
The PGSO through rental of equipment and venues have also generated PHP 371,000 in profit, with another PHP 1.4 million gained in a successful auction of unserviceable properties through its asset disposal and appraisal division.
The PGSO concluded with a renewed affirmation of its steadfast commitment to improving PGNV systems and service delivery while ‘upholding transparency and accountability’ in its continued responsibility. /igmb
