The Agency Compliance Team-Technical Working Group (ACTeam-TWG) and Composite Team (CT) of the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya (PGNV), together with their assisting Professional for Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Assessment (EIS/EIA), have finally completed the documents accompanying the PGNV’s request for Public Scoping of the LMET Park Project in Diadi, viz: Project Description for Scoping (PDS); Preliminary list of stakeholders and invitees for the public scoping; Descriptive Map of the LMET Park; Summary of social preparation activities undertaken; and details of issues and concerns raised, along with the proponents’ responses thereto.
Leading the focal technical persons who went to the Office of the DENR-EMB Region 02 in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on February 10-11, 2022 to submit the said documents and answer basic questions relative thereto was For. Henry P. Patricio, EA-I/Head of the NVWMC-OCU.
The said documents were the result of the preliminary activities undertaken by the ACTeam-TWG and CT from November 2021 to February 2022, which include EIS writeshops, Community Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) Campaign, and Delineation survey of boundaries of the 412.04 hectares LMET Park, inclusive of the occupied and plantation areas therein.
For. Patricio explained that the submission of the request for Public Scoping is just the 6th of the 13-step application process leading to the acquisition of an Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) for the LMET Park Project.
He said that the Head of the Environmental Impact Assessment and Management Division of the DENR’s Environmental Management Bureau that is in-charge of undertaking technical reviews of PDS, informed them recently about the conduct of the requested technical assistance and Public Scoping which they have tentatively scheduled on March 10-11, 2022. #mba
